Could you please repeat that?
It's Scarlett from helloenglish.us Today I am going to tell you a very useful phrase when you are speaking with a foreigner and you are trying to practice your English conversation.
While you are speaking you may not understand what they are saying. One of the best things that you can say is:
"I'm sorry I did not understand you. Could you repeat that, please?"
That is a very polite way to say: "Say it again, I didn't understand!"
Another thing you can say is, "If you speak slowly I may be" ~~~ hm, let me start that over again.
If you speak slowly, I will be able to understand you.
If you speak slowly, I will be able to understand you.
That will tell your listener to slow down because they are getting a little too fast!
